Age-related Macular Degeneration is an eye disorder that causes progressive loss of central vision due to damage to the Macula area of the eye. This damage causes blurring or darkness in the center of vision which interferes with reading, driving, etc.

There are two types of Macular Degeneration, the dry type, which is responsible for some 90% of age-related macula problems and the wet type.
