Together with the Spanish company VITATENE, WILD has developed a formulation based on natural beta-carotene for use within the food industry.
Beta-carotene is often used to give food and beverages an appetizing yellow or orange-red color. Until recently, most manufactured versions of beta-carotene were synthetic. The newly developed, natural colorant, named Betanat® is produced by VITATENE, using WILD as the worldwide exclusive exporter to the food and beverage industries.
VITATENE®s years of experience in the area of fermentation along with WILD®s sound knowledge of product formulation, application and commercial knowledge allowed for a perfect combination of competencies in developing the Betanat®. Together, the two companies have developed a natural product, which delivers a brilliant, highly stable color.
All-Natural Products - the Big Trend
As the old saying goes, "The eyes also eat". The visual appearance of a product is a deciding factor when choosing which foods to buy. The consumer links certain colors of products with freshness, quality and taste. At the same time, a growing number of consumers are asking for all natural products - colors made from fruit or vegetables are the latest trend. With Betanat® 30%, WILD is now able to offer a natural beta-carotene product to the food industry for use in oil-based applications, such as margarine, dairy products and ice cream.
Betanat® 30% is an oil-soluble emulsion, which is naturally produced via fermenting and selectively extracting certain elements from the original raw material. By using this method, a color is created which is not genetically modified and is also allergen-free, adhering to EU regulations. In addition, this natural beta-carotene is gluten and gelatine-free.
Betanat® 30% colors food products with a stable, brilliant colorant ranging from yellow to deep orange depending on the amount used. WILD offers not only the color for the product but also a complete range of raw materials and ingredients for further product processing.
At FI Europe in Paris, 29th November until 1st December 2005, WILD will be presenting a range of different products, which have incorporated Betanat® 30%.
