Case 1: How can I lose my excess weight?

I am a 35 year old female. I am 50 pounds overweight. This year I got out of a 13 year relationship. I went through a period of depression. Now, I feel better, but I cannot seem to lose any weight. Any suggestions? I think I may have triggered a hormonal imbalance …

Cases like yours are common among women.   Feeling depressed often drives many of them to eat foods at non-meal time.   The first thing you need to do is change your mentality and develop a high esteem.  Learn not to let bad things influence your feeling to a point to eat whatever is available to you.   To do that, make more friends and share your feeling with a couple of confidants.  Do whatever you can do so that you won't focus on foods.   This is your strategy.

Now let's talk about a bit about tactics.   The only foods I'd suggest you should eat less or none of is meat, dairy, and foods with high fat.   Of course, liquid candy and high sugar foods are not nutritionally sound and you should also avoid them.   Other than these foods, you should eat full at each meal time and do not leave yourself craving for more foods between meals.   This is extremely important.   Do not set a goal at the beginning that is too high to reach.   One step a time, inch by inch, gradually your excess weight will be gone forever when you finally adopt a healthier lifestyle including a healthy diet and regular physical exercise.

In addition, you should be very careful enough not to fall into any fad diet trap.   Many popular diets are there for a business, not for your health, meaning they are not necessarily healthy and they can even ruin your health.   This can be a bit hard for some people to understand, but as you learn, you will know what I am talking about.
