U.S. regulator said Friday some people experienced serious and unexpected side effects such as inability to control facial muscles, disfigurement and rare life-threatening allergic reaction after using   wrinkle-fillers, bloodberg.com reported.

The FDA have reportedly received 930 reports of side effects of all types during the period between Jan 2003 and Sep. 20 2008 associated with use of products made by various companies.

The agency did not say how many side effects were serious or which products caused what. But bloodberg.com reported that top-selling wrinkle-fillers include Medicis Pharmaceutical Corp.'s Restylane and Allergan Inc.'s Juvederm.

The FDA will have a meeting with a panel on Nov 18 to discuss the safety of the products and whether warnings are needed.   The agency has expected more applications for selling wrinkle-fillers in coming months.
