Rush Limbaugh treated for chest pain

Dec. 3 - Rush Limbaugh was released from the Honolulu hospital and will resume his work next week, Premier Radio Networks Inc was cited as saying on Jan 1 in an emailed statement.

Doctors at Queeen's Medical Center said they found no evidence of heart disease in tests taken after he was admitted to the hospital on Dec 30 for treatment of chest pain, Mr. Limbaugh was cited as saying at a press conference broadcast on Fox News and CNN.

U.S radio talk host Rush Limbaugh, 58, is reportedly undergoing medical tests after being admitted on Wednesday to a hospital in Hawaii for treatment of chest pains.

Officials from the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu were cited as saying that Mr. Limbaugh was comfortable and in good spirit.

Chest pain in some cases may point to a serious health condition in the lung, the heart, the brain and even the gastrointestinal system.

Mr. Limbaugh is one of the most influential people in the news media. His show is broadcast on about 600 stations across the country and enjoyed by more than 14 million Americans each week.

Chest pain is one of the most common medical conditions that send patients to emergency rooms.  Fortunately, it is not always a sign of a heart attack.  Actually, according to mayoclinic.com, chest pain is often unrelated to any heart problem.

But w wide spectrum of health problems can cause chest pain including cardiac, digestive, musculoskeletal, and respiratory causes.

Cardiac causes include heart attack, angina, aortic dissection, coronary spasm, pericarditis and other heart-related conditions.

Digestive causes for chest pain include heartburn, esophageal spasm, hiatal hernia, achalasia, and gallbladder or pancreas problems.

Musculoskeletal and respiratory  causes for chest pain include costochondritis, sore muscles, injured ribs or pinches nerves, pulmonary embolism, pleurisy, and other lung conditions.

It remains to be seen what caused Mr Limbaugh's chest pain.

Thanks Rush...I just learned a truck load of knowledge from your hospital visit and this article.
Sane folks wish you speedy recovery and for the Rip folks they're the ones who party hardy with sex partners known and unknown booze drugs rock and roll but joke at you being 58 that you did it to yourself... Truth....Smoking cigars can weaken a body...but it's still COOL that Obama can hid his cig. addiction from the masses! Little do they know most may never reach your ripe old age or knowledge no mater how hard they try.
Nasty is also a killer among the human body.
P.S. that's no way to spend a vacation but your getting a well deserved rest and a full
