The woman pioneering The Patient Pod as a simple, sensible, sustainable health solution is Pat Mastors, Founder and CEO of Pear Health, LLC. 

"Imagine a woman sobbing at 3 am because she can't reach a tissue and the nurse isn't able to immediately respond to the call button. That unnecessary loss of control in a hospital eats away at a patient's pride and spirit. We set out to give control back to people."

Mastors was motivated to create the Patient Pod after the loss of her father, Bob Stegeman. Mr. Stegeman died of complications from a preventable hospital-acquired infection in 2006. Her five year mission has been to make a differnece in the lives of other patients. Mastors believes hospital patient's deserve more, and that includes clean care and comfort. 
 
The Patient Pod, developed by Fuzion Design Inc, offers a new and unique cost-effective solution to the complex challenges of HAIs.  Hospitals already utilizing the Patient Pod system have been won over by its enhancement of hand hygiene, reduction of HAIs risk and patient anxiety, cost-effectiveness, intuitive appeal, and custom branding opportunity.
