Rackspace outage is over
Rackspace.com, one of the big web hosting companies in the United States, experienced some outrage leaving many sites non-functional this afternoon, news media reported. Chat InformationWelcome to Rackspace. We are connecting you to our next available operator. you: hello, An outage is often caused by the internet connectivity, which can result in the hosting facility due to shortage of electricity or fire or network problems due to failure of some hardware or software. This rackspace outrage was not as serious as some others that lasted literally days. The writer used a hosting company whose website for once disappeared for almost three days along with its clients' websites. And no apology was offered! Rackspace is a decent web hosting company it seems to me and it provides products and services to all types of businesses. When an organization wants to set up a website, or blog, or online newspaper or magazine, or run an online store etc, it needs to find some web hosting company to host its website. Rackspace offers managed hosting solutions for their clients to run e-commerce sites, media sites, application sites or web applications, blogs, CMS, web 2.0 sites among others. The company also leases single dedicated servers and managed collocation for those who need more powerful web hosting solutions and enhanced services. Although an outage is not something anyone wants, it happens. This rackspace outrage is not expected to cause any bad impact on the company. Through a chat room on the website of rackspace, the writer talked to a service rep about the outage and he told me that the problem has been solved. Below is a short conversion between me and the rep.
