Tiger Woods infidelity has become a sensational topic in the news media last couple of weeks.  News outlets of all types have published numerous news stories, comments, and gossips about Tiger Woods, his alleged mistresses and their romantic relationships.

Tiger Woods has remained silent about his infidelity for many days.  On Dec 11, he finally published a notice on his official website tigerwoods.com saying that

"I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children. I want to say again to everyone that I am profoundly sorry and that I ask forgiveness."

William C. Rhoden wrote an article on the New York Times website saying that "I am sorry" is not enough.  He said Tiger Woods should say:

"I apologize - to my wife, to my children, to my parents, to the PGA Tour, to sponsors, to the legion of Tiger Woods fans, who I know are stunned and disappointed. In the process of cheating on you, I have cheated myself."

Because of his infidelity or extramarital relationships with many women, Tiger Woods suffered severe damage to his public image. Some advertisers have decided to sever commercial ties with the world's best professional golfer.  Fans around the world are disappointed with the Woods' behavior.

The biggest victims may be Woods' family, Tiger's wife and children.  Because of this, Tiger Woods has decided to quit golf indefinitely.  In his statement, he says

"After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person."

Infidelity is not something admirable, but commonly seen in human behaviors.  Science has revealed that men and women with certain genetic characteristics are prone to cheating during the course of a relationship.  The cheating rate can be as high as 40 to 76 percent, according to a Canadian study.

Tiger Woods is in a unique position to suffer various temptations because of his fame and wealth.  Many women would die to have relationship with him. For them it is an experience that they could not gain elsewhere.

For the public, a few passages from the bible may be recommended;

John 8:3-10 (New International Version)

3The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4and said to Jesus, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?" 6They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.

   But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." 8Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.

 9At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10Jesus straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?"
