Tiger Woods injured in car accident

Tiger Woods had a car accident early this Black Friday morning near his Florida home, but he was not seriously injured.

Woods was driving a 2009 Cadillac sport utility vehicle and struck a fire hydrant and then drove into a tree at his neighbor's property at 2:25 a.m.

Th Florida Highway Patrol received a call for help and rushed Woods to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee. Woods was released later this afternoon.

The Highway Patrol reported Woods' injuries as serious, Woods spokesman Glenn Greenspan was cited as saying Friday afternoon.

The airbags in the car did not deploy, meaning that Woods did not drive at a speed more than 33 miles per hour. Greenspan said the accident was minor.

Officials are investigating the crash and charges are pending. Media reported that Woods was not driving under the influence of alcohol.

"From Health Central Hospital and Tiger's Woods' office:
Tiger Woods was in a minor car accident outside his home last night.
He was admitted, treated and released today in good condition.
We appreciate very much everyone's thoughts and well wishes."
