Enter USA.gov video contest for a chance to win $2500 (PR)
Take a look around USA.gov and then show us in a creative, entertaining and informative 30 to 90 second video how you use the information you find there to make your life better. The creator of the winning video will receive $2,500. Videos can be uploaded to YouTube for judging beginning Feb. 22, 2010. The deadline for submission is 1 p.m. EST on April 2, 2010. By entering the contest, you grant GSA a perpetual, royalty-free license to use your video, in any media, for standard government-related and other non-commercial purposes. You grant GSA permission to edit, modify, format, or adapt your video for GSA's purposes at GSA's sole discretion. Except for the $2,500 prize awarded to the winner of the video contest, no other compensation in any manner will be paid to any entrant of the video contest for the submission to GSA or GSA's future use of the video in any manner. If you want to remove your video from the competition, you may do so by requesting GSA delete your video from its competition prior to the announcement of the winner on or about April 30, 2010. There is no limit on the number of videos someone may submit. To be eligible you must be a citizen of the United States, Puerto Rico or the other U.S. territories. Children 13 years or younger must have their parents approval. Employees of GSA, their relatives, and GSA contractors are not eligible to enter the contest. Any video created by Federal employees while on Federal time are considered works of the U.S. Government and are not eligible to win the cash prize. After the contest closes, videos will be judged to see if they present accurate information and comply with the requirements of the contest. Those videos that do not comply will be disqualified. All other videos will advance to round two where the videos will be rated by a panel of judges from GSA based on message, accuracy, appropriateness of theme, creativity, and entertainment value. A winner will be selected and notified by email on or about April 30, 2010. The winner will receive $2,500 and the winning video will be posted on USA.gov and the USA.gov YouTube channel. The personal information you submit on the entry form will only be used to contact you in the event you win the contest or if there is a question or issue regarding your video or its content. We will not disclose, give, sell, or transfer any personal information about you, unless required for law enforcement or by statute. As your video will be made available to the public, you should not include personal information about yourself or anyone else. All information collected on the entry form will be deleted at the conclusion of the contest. GSA is using YouTube to host the videos for this contest.
