Smart for Life cookies is a weight loss product marketed by smartforlife.com as part of their Smart for Life diet plan.

So what's so special about the Smart for Life cookies? Well, according to smartforlife.com, these are not your ordinary cookies you can pick up from your local Wal-Mart.   As the site claims, they are all natural, appetite suppressing cookies; when used as meal replacements, they help dieters to jump start and maintain a healthy weight loss program.

Per their website: "You will keep your hunger satisfied and your metabolism revved up for optimum fat burning – you will see weight loss success within days of following the Smart for Life® Cookie Diet Program."

The cookies come in chocolate, blueberry and oatmeal flavors, although the basic ingredients are the same in all three.

The cookies are sold in quantity  for dieters to use for a 9-day or 2-week program.  The 2-week program costsThose who $279.00; although Smart for Life recommends dieters replace two meals with the cookies, they actually ship enough for three meals per day.

Because man can not live on cookies alone, the company also sells other products including shakes, soups, muffins and crunches, coffee creamers, dressings, marinades, vitamins and supplements, hot coca, cupcakes, cereals or even video & CDs (Warning: those are not edible videos and CDs:-).

Are these Smart for Life Cookies effective in helping dieters to lose weight?  Only those who have tried it would know.  One thing that I know is that since the cookies are baked, they may contain some acrylamide, a cancer-causing agent.  However, this is a small concern, as it is present in all types of baked, fried and toasted foods.

If the cookies contain high levels of unsaturated fat, baking can result in toxic chemicals from those unsaturated fat.  But for one or two weeks, these cookies may still prove beneficial.
