Editor's note: Starchy foods are not perfect for humans for sure. But other foods aren't perfect either. Just because starchy foods are not perfect does not mean we should rush to eat lots of meat and dairy products. Food consumers should be aware that too much meat or animal protein can be a problem too. Animal-based foods are known to have high levels of environmental pollutants like cancer-causing dioxins, according to the EPA. Western diet contains high amounts of meat and dairy products and Westerners are more likely to suffer more Western diseases like cancer, heart disease and diabetes. The most important thing for food consumers to do is avoid added sugars and excess edible oil/fat in processed foods....
