Fluoride Action Network Wants Your Donations

Dear Readers,

We would like to thank everyone who helped us kick off our annual fundraiser with a generous contribution.  So far we have raised $1818 from 21 donors as we begin building momentum to reach our goal of raising $100,000 from 500 or more donors by midnight Dec. 31.

If you are still debating whether to donate to the Fluoride Action Network (FAN), consider the following:

41% of adolescents have dental fluorosis caused by overexposure to fluoride.  This has doubled from 22% in 1986, and there is no sign of the epidemic slowing.

-This year 25th study was published reporting an association between reduction in IQ and exposure to fluoride in community drinking water.  Children from a "high fluoride" city in Iran had significantly lower IQ scores than those from a "low fluoride" city.  Frighteningly, the children from the "high fluoride" city had previously been shown to consume an average of 1.71 mg fluoride per day, which is actually lower than the average daily intake for similarly aged children in the United States (2.03 mg/day), according to the recent analysis by the U.S. EPA (2010).

-The CDC and ADA, as well as their Canadian, British, and Australian counterparts are spending more money, more effortand more resources to increase the populations being forced to consume fluoride in their drinking water.  In the U.S., these groups are now focusing on state legislatures and state-wide mandates, forcing fluoride on citizens even after they've voted to oppose it locally.

-If you're not convinced yet, please read Dr. Mercola's latest article on fluoride, featuring FAN's director, Paul Connett, PhD.

Without intervention, it's clear that the practice of fluoridation and the health impacts that accompany it will not only continue, but will increase.  FAN will continue to oppose water fluoridation, and is dedicated to teaching our neighbors and decision-makers the truth about this unsafe and unethical practice.  We're building momentum and making great progress, but we can only maintain and build upon this success with your help
