You may cut any way you want, but just don't cut the turkey bones. Here are some tips on how to carve a turkey. * Get all the stuff you need including aluminum foil, turkeys, carving knives, curved meat forks, cutting boards, electric carving knives, and serving platters. * After you roast your turkey, let your bird covered with foil sit at room temperature for 20 minutes. This is necessary to make your carving a bit easier. * Use a sharp thin-bladed carving knife, locate the joint where the thighbones meet the body. * Slip your knife to separate the thigh from the body on both sides of the turkey body. * Use the same technique to separate the drumstick from the thigh. Make sure to cut the joint, not the bone on either side of the joint. * Run your knife along the bone to separate as much meat as possible from the thigh and drumstick. * Cut thigh and leg meat into small slices. * Likewise, use your knife to find the joint between the wing and the body. * Slip your knife into the joint and separate the wing from the body. Do the same thing to another wing. * Now cut thin slices off one side of the breast. And do the same thing to another side of the turkey breast.
