I would imagine that those men and women who find their breast cancer by self examination may be terrorized by those recommendations also. The USPSTF has recommended against clinicians teaching breast self examination. That is just plain ridiculous and it does not reflect well on a supposed body of knowledge. Change your recommendations. The majority of women I treat are between the ages of 40 and 55. Get a grip on your population!

*** VITAMIN D3 vs BREAST CANCER ***

"Breast cancer patients with low
vitamin D levels had a 73 percent
higher risk of death than women who
were vitamin D sufficient. This
study was released by University of
Toronto researchers (Goodwin, 2008).
...
"Women with low levels of Vitamin D
had more aggressive tumors."
...
"For the last ten years we have been
advocating high dose Vitamin D for
breast cancer patients because early
studies strongly indicated Vitamin D
deficiency is strongly associated
with breast and certain other cancers.

"But now more studies are piling up
to support the initial findings."

Those quotations come from:

http://breastcancerchoices.org/vitd3.html:

Go there for more information. Then
help yourself or a woman you love to
fight -- or, hopefully, prevent --
breast cancer. Here are some more
links to get you started:

For under $15, you can get a year's supply of Vitamin D3 - 360 capsules - at a dose of 5000mg/per capsule by going to iHerb.com

Be well. Live long, and prosper. Have a great new year.

I’m a breast cancer survivor and thriver. Just found this DVD “The Path of Wellness & Healing” at a conference and it’s the best resource i have EVER seen for anyone with breast cancer or their families. My husband was given SO MANY BOOKS and who has the time to read when you’re dealing with something like this? This DVD is a one-stop shop that walks you through the entire bc experience with celeb survivors like MELISSA ETHERIDGE, Sheryl Crow, Christina Applegate, plus bigtime doctors like Deepak Chopra and Dean Ornish. So educational and inspiring. http://breastcancerdvd.org.
