Three male and one female officers was sitting at the Cafe Forza coffee house in Spanaway at 8:15 when a gunman entered and opened fire on them without prior warning. The Lakewood Police Department, the Pierce County Sheriff's Office and other police departments are working together in searching for the suspect described as black man in his mid 20's to mid 30's. The man is about 5'7" to 5'10" tall and wore blue jeans and a black coat at the time of the attack. The officers were having a rest at the coffee shop, and their cars were parked outside the shop so it is speculated that the police officers were targeted.
