Editor's note: The Food and Drug Administration has approved Actemra for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), Genentech, Inc. announced this week. There is no cure for the health condition though. We posted an article below for those who may be interested in alternative ways to manage their disease.

Here's what I've been doing for 21 years! It's the best :)

Based on research by Neal Barnard, M.D., one of America’s leading health advocates, this TOTALLY FREE program is designed for anyone who wants to explore and experience the health benefits of a vegan diet.
I recently dropped methotrexate, which was causing me lots of discomfort, such as hair loss, sore muscles and bad skin, and went onto a pure vegan diet(I had already dropped meat and fish - all that remained was diary). I am now managing my RA much, much better than ever before. I am still finding certain foods have a negative effect on me, and then add them to the list to be excluded. This is a much better alternative to medication, which definitely doesnt cure the problem and which has such bad long term effects. I agree that eating this way is challenging, especially from a social perspective. I think that all RA sufferers should give this approach serious consideration.
