I think that they are largely due to factory farming and the associated large-scale processing operations, where things  &amp;quot;simply can happen&amp;quot; despite good intentions.  &amp;quot;Time is money&amp;quot; is our generation&amp;#039;s slogan, and we (or those among us who eat meat and their families) pay for it despite the fact that the price of meat is ridiculously low, considering where it comes from.
