Links? Citations to the aforementioned scientific journals? No? Well that makes it a little hard to take this article seriously.

It is the same old story- always some conspiracy keeping down the wonderful scientists that say GMO is bad. This is the same conspiracy that hides the vaccine-autism link, the proof of creationism, the fact that HIV does not cause AIDS, the proof that the world's thermometers are broken and there is no climate change, and the fact that we didn't land on the moon.

The information you post has either been discredited, not published in peer-reviewed journals or is not reproducible. It is fear mongering anti-science at its worst.

There is no credible evidence that GM crops are dangerous. In fact, the largest experiment is the fact that most cattle are fed GM and almost all of the soy is GM. There is no evidence of harm linked to these crops.

Your article is purely anti-scientific and anti-scientist. If anyone found any conclusive and reproducible problem with GM it would be huge news. That scientist would win the Nobel prize and would be grant-funded for life. It would be published in the best journals.

I'm a scientist and no corporation owns me. Same with my tens of thousands of colleagues. If we find it, we report it, period.

To date, there is zero credible evidence of GM harm.

You're a scientist and no corporation owns you? Just like all the US politicians, who of course have no allegiance to any corporations.
Its just 100% pure coincidence when scientists findings, by chance, happen to support the interests of the corporations or industries that are sponsoring their research and labs.

There is a list of chemicals we now believe to be toxic, harmful, or carcinogenic that were common and handled without concern in the past before their danger was discovered.
Of course at the time there was "zero credible evidence of... harm" and there was no malicious intent in the spread of these substances. This trend continues even into modern times, even with recent examples. It's due to an 'assume its safe unless its discovered to be dangerous' mindset.
How many times will it repeat? Something is "probably" safe to handle, put on your body, ingest, etc." Until years later when it is discovered to be dangerous. And everytime something new is introduced, we assume that NOW we know everything, and its not possible to make another mistake, even though so many have been made before. What's different about this time?

Why do we need GMO? Except to make a fortune for the involved corporations. Why take a risk for no gain? Humans already have a perfectly satisfactory naturally occuring food source, IE the organisms that evolved to live on this planet. Over millions of years of co-evolution and generations of agriculturalist societies, I feel pretty confident in eating what grows naturally on the planet. Forgive me for not feeling the same way about something created by the same scientific community that has created all the toxic synthetic chemicals we are immersed in today.

There is an interesting write-up here http://healthjournalclub.blogspot.com/2009/11/armageddon-bug.html
on how researchers in Australia tried to create a mouse contraceptive through genetic engineering and instead, entirely by accident, created an incredibly lethal version of mouse pox. To mix and match genes across genus, phyla and kingdom and then release these self-propagating organisms into the wild and pretend anyone has any idea the ultimate result is nonsense, it is the height of recklessness and misplaced scientific hubris. The story of the sorcerer’s apprentice was 200 years ahead of its time.

http://www.digitaljournal.***/article/285594 We didn't need GMO no more than we needed 7 different countries experimenting with cloud seeding this last year. And no more than we need to know what happened in the big bang. It is for profit and nothing more. The astonishing thing is we let them get away with it. But I am beginning to think the profits are going to destroy our bubble we live in. What they don't understand is they are not going to be able to take it with them....
