# Amauroderma rude helps fight breast cancer

A new Chinese study suggests that taking Amauroderma rude extract may help prevent or treat breast cancer. Amauroderma rude is a fungus. The study found Amauroderma rude has a higher inhibitory effect against breast cancer cell than Ganoderma lucidum, which is the most well-known medicinal mushroom with an anti-cancer activity. Amauroderma rude was found able to kill cancer cells and induce apoptosis - programmed cell deaths. Researchers tested an Amauroderma rude extract on nude mice bearing tumors and found tumors grew at a slower rate, compared with the control mice.
