# Media registration open for APEC Finance Ministers’ Meeting

Media registration open for APEC Finance Ministers’ Meeting

Beijing, China, 12 September 2014 - Media registration is now open for the 2014 APEC Finance Ministers’ Meeting, to be hosted in Beijing by China’s Ministry of Finance and Chaired by Finance Minister Lou Jiwei. 

Background:

The 21 APEC member economies account for about half of world trade and 60 per cent of total gross domestic product. But gaps in productivity, employment and wages, combined with lower trade and economic growth and tepid recovery globally, are cause for concern. 

APEC Finance Ministers will assess risks to the Asia-Pacific and world economy and take joint actions to accelerate global recovery and put economies on a higher long-term growth path. 

Issues in focus will include the current economic situation and outlook in the region; cooperation on infrastructure investment and financing; fiscal and taxation policies and reform for economic restructuring; and improving financial services for the regional real economy.

Deadline for media registration: Tuesday, 30 September 2014 

Registration procedure:

Media may register individually by completing a registration form at this link and submitting it to apecfmm2014media@163.com no later than 30 September 2014\. An email confirmation will be sent by the 2014 APEC Finance Ministers’ Meeting Secretariat to all media upon successful accreditation. 

Identification badges for successfully accredited media will be available at the APEC Accreditation Center at the Westin Hotel Beijing Financial Street.
