- Description: A pitch for a paid three-page report arguing that mammography does not lower breast cancer deaths, that screening overdiagnoses tumors needing no treatment, and that higher survival rates may reflect earlier diagnosis alone. The report costs $1.99 by email.

Summary: 1) Breast cancer screening cannot detect aggressive breast cancer early enough to prevent it from becoming an advanced tumor, which is the real killer for breast cancer patients. In other words, the screening does not really cut risk of death from breast cancer. 2) Breast cancer screening overdiagnoses breast cancer and leads to treatment of many tumors that would not need to be treated otherwise. 3) Increased survival rate may be due simply to the early diagnosis alone and may not have anything to do with treatment, and may not actually extend the survival by one day. The seemingly increased rate of survival can be misleading.

Knowledge is power! This report can help you to undertand the risks of mammogram screening. Doctors in many cases won't discuss about the risk. They fear you would reject treatment, which is one source of their income. One in eight women in the United States are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Each year 37,000 US women die from the disease no matter how hard doctors treat them. No one should subject himslf to uncessary or even harmful diagnosis and or treatment. You simply cannot count on mammogram screening to prevent the disease.
