Gary Coleman remains in critical condition in a hospital in Utah after being taken there Wednesday. His wife, Shannon Price made a statement saying he rushed there for a “serious medical condition,” but she declined to give more details than that.

His manager, however, made a statement announcing that the entertainer fell into a coma and is now on life support.

According to TMZ, however, Gary Coleman’s brother has stated that he is being hospitalized from head injuries received from a fall (CBS News).

Gary Coleman, who is now 42, rose to fame in the television series “Different Strokes,” which ran from 1978-1986.

Coleman has suffered from a variety of health issues in the past; he has had two kidney transplants, which were the result of the kidney disease that marked his childhood. Additionally, last fall he became ill with pneumonia after heart surgery (MSNBC).

In January and February of this year, he suffered from seizures; the February incident occurred on the set of The Insider.

Coleman has been very vocal regarding his relationship with his parents, who he feels pushed him to the breaking point while he was cast in “Different Strokes,” an allegation his estranged parents deny (Biography).
