A new Chinese study shows that intake of fructose can induce renal injury while supplementation with ginger extracts can improve the fructose induced renal injury. Authors explain the protective effect saying that ginger extracts render the protection by suppressing the expression of proinflammatory cytokines.Yang M, Jiang R, Lin X. \[Ginger extracts improve renal injury of high fructose-fed SD rats by inhibiting the expression of proinflammatory cytokines\].
