Rumor has it that Lil Wayne has been murdered. But no trustworthy news outlets confirmed or reported that Lil Wayne is dead.

It is unknown where the rumor came from. At least, techbanyan.com posted a message on its site saying "Lil Wayne has indeed been shot dead according to the BBC News?"

But no news articles are posted on BBC, the writer found, to indicate that Lil Wayne was murdered or dead.

Lalate.com said any report on Lil Wayne's death is absolutely false. The site claimed that it has been monitoring many stars but it has not been aware that Lil Wayne was murdered.

What is Lil Wayen, anyway? Here is what Wikipedia has to say, cited in verbatim:

*"Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. (born September 27, 1982), better known by his stage name Lil Wayne, is an American Grammy Award-winning rapper. Formerly a member of the rap group the Hot Boys, he joined the Cash Money Records collective as a teenager. Get It How U Live!, released in 1997, was Lil Wayne's first album with Hot Boys, and Tha Block Is Hot, his solo debut, came out in 1999."*
