## Tell Jessica Alba and Honest Co.: No Fake Organic Baby Formula!

When new moms buy baby formula labeled “organic” they expect that product to actually meet USDA organic standards.

But if you bought the “Premium Organic” infant formula sold by The Honest Co., you were deceived—because that product contains synthetic ingredients that are not allowed under federal law.

In April, the Organic Consumers Association sued the Honest Co., founded by celebrity Jessica Alba, for duping consumers by falsely labeling some of its infant formula products as organic.

This isn’t the first, or the only lawsuit filed against the Honest Co. Three [lawsuits](http://salsa3.salsalabs.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=Z0iZavm3D8nLj3rfKYKrIMUX8X71ggVh&ref=foodconsumer.org), including ours, are still grinding their way through the courts.

In the meantime, in an appearance on the “Today” show on August 25, Alba told her fans (as [quoted](http://salsa3.salsalabs.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=v%2BH%2FMtI25%2BQJ8F7s9Q5HmsUX8X71ggVh&ref=foodconsumer.org) in Forbes magazine) that there’s nothing to the lawsuits, she’s just an “easy target:”

“It’s just a headline, really, because when you look into any of it, they’re baseless. There’s no merit behind any of it.”

OCA isn’t in the business of filing frivolous lawsuits, just to make “headlines.” Our job is to protect consumers—even, especially, the tiny newborn ones—from false claims.

As they say in the sports world, we’re in it to win it.
