A new study shows that fruit flies eating organic diets are healthier than those eating nonorganic diets. The "organic consumers" were found to perform better than their counterparts on a variety of health tests including fertility and longevity.

Early studies have linked consumption of organic foods with health benefits although some organic food advocates suggest the industry tried to disprove that organic foods are better than conventional foods. The industry sponsored a Stanford University study which suggested that organic foods are no better than the nonorganic foods.
