An Pan and Frank B Hu states in the journal Future Medicine:

*"In summary, there is convincing evidence that higher *red meat* consumption is related to an increased risk of Type 2 diabetes. For the general public, limiting red meat intake, particularly processed red meat, and replacing red meat with healthier dietary choices, such as vegetables, legumes, nuts, whole grains, low-fat dairy products, fish and poultry, is beneficial for the long-term prevention of diabetes."*

Many of us have only known that eating **sugar** and **saturated** fat and **trans** fat can increase risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is very easy to avoid. There are quite a few effective alternative preventatives food consumers can use to prevent the disease from developing. **Curcumin** is one of the wonder drugs that can effectively prevent type 2 diabetes from developing in men and women who have already developed prediabetes, according to an indian study.

More details about the association between red meat consumption and risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus will be published later.
