DECEMBER BULLETIN #26

Dear Reader:

Before we get to the most arrogant mayor in the U.S., here is an update on our Fundraiser. Yesterday was another good day. We raised**$2,703** from **19** donors bringing our current total to **$68,618** from **338**donors. We need another **$1,396** to reach our mini-goal of $70,000, which will then trigger an additional **$9,000** pledged by several of our heavy hitters.

Our next mini-goal is $90,000 where a new set of pledges will kick in. To get to $90,000 we need 125 donations of $100 or the equivalent. We are hoping that our new offer of a **Fluoride Fighting Kit** will excite our supporters. This special offer will only be available for the next three days and only for residents of the U.S. (because of mailing costs).

**$102 FLUORIDE FIGHTING KIT** *(all made in USA* [*– click here to see images*](http://salsa.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=BrSm13wGG8ejzatTSSVYTitDSD3G1%2F8w&ref=foodconsumer.org)*):*

\-FAN T-Shirt (S, M, L, XL)*\**

\-FAN Tote Bag

\-Up to 20 FAN Bumper Stickers *\**

\-Two DVDs (Professional Video & Interview with Chris Bryson, author of *The Fluoride Deception*)

*(You will need to* [*email*](mailto:ellen@fluoridealert.org) *Ellen to tell her the T-Shirt size & how many bumper stickers you want)*

**FAN’s plan for 2013:**

After the basics are covered we would like to make more videos of the caliber of the one released on [Yolanda Whyte yesterday](http://salsa.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=uhVGqP7xel%2FSGiY987AgGwV7g4VmgV7A&ref=foodconsumer.org). Michael Connett and Kevin Hurley have several projects in the works. The idea is to make more videos that have the potential to reach the general public. In addition we would like to send Dr. Whyte and other professionals to speak in some of the many communities in which this issue is being raised. But all of this outreach takes money, so if you haven’t donated yet to our 2013 fluoridation fighting fund please consider doing so.

**Remember all donations are tax-deductible.**

To make a donation you can either use the donation feature on our website ([details](http://salsa.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=Rr%2B631OHRr8NX%2BY5lLqJDytDSD3G1%2F8w&ref=foodconsumer.org)) or send a check made out to FAN to 104 Walnut Street, Binghamton, NY 13905, but email us ([paul@fluoridealert.org](mailto:paul@fluoridealert.org)) to let us know a donation is on the way so that we can keep an accurate tally right up to midnight Dec 31.

Our fundraising totals will be updated regularly on our [home page ](http://salsa.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=9zfjvZpgXbQP2CvmwSML5StDSD3G1%2F8w&ref=foodconsumer.org)and in these daily bulletins.

**The most arrogant mayor in the U.S.**

In the January 2013, issue of [*Portland Monthly*](http://salsa.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=qrjUNBGF6nkQ0mXOUTghYCtDSD3G1%2F8w&ref=foodconsumer.org), Sam Adams (the mayor of Portland who is part of the effort to force fluoridation on the citizens of Portland, even though they have voted down three previous proposals) was interviewed by Randy Gragg.

One of the questions asked by Gragg:

**"What is the dumbest Portland idea that won't die?"**

His answer:

**"That nonfluoridated water is somehow good for you."**

If this mayor can get away with such an ill-informed (or PR spun) statement in one of the most progressive cities in America, it really underlines the need for more educational outreach aimed at the ordinary person. Please donate to FAN (details) so that we can make more of such educational outreach available next year.

Thank you for all who have donated so generously so far and for all the other things you are doing to help end fluoridation worldwide.

Paul Connett, PhD,

Director of FAN, co-author of *The Case Against Fluoride*
