Dear Readers,

Scientists from the Arctic University of Norway found that 70 percent of GE soybeans have "extreme levels" of Monsanto's Roundup herbicide, which causes harm to human health and, in some cases, kills human cells.

And that's just one food!

**Here's another statistic for you: 65 percent of the thousands of produce samples EWG analyzed from the U.S. Department of Agriculture tested positive for pesticide residues.** This makes it more essential than ever that we have the resources we need to make informed choices about what we serve our families.

**That's why we at EWG created the 2014 Shopper's Guide to Pesticides in Produce**, listing the "Dirty Dozen" items likely to expose you to the most pesticides, and the "Clean Fifteen" safest bets for avoiding bug and weed-killers.

Now EWG needs your help in raising $50,000 by May 11 to continue its great work for us all. Nearly half of EWG's funding comes from individual donors like you who care about uncovering the truth and empowering the public with information.

**And right now, when you donate $10 or more, EWG will send you its 2014 Shopper's Guide to Pesticides in Produce bag tag to attach to your purse or shopping bag when you hit the produce aisle.**

[**Donate $10 or more to ensure that EWG hits its goal by May 11 and we'll send you EWG's 2014 Shopper's Guide to Pesticides in Produce bag tag FREE as a thank you.**](http://action.ewg.org/salsa/track.jsp?v=2&c=RHnO%2BkpKHwPzHgQSG1UpXeWSO5znQuCc&ref=foodconsumer.org)

Even after 20 years, EWG's work is just getting started. Securing your safety is a multi-front battle, with new challenges emerging daily. Take today, for example: at this very moment, Big Food is lobbying to pass a bill we call the Deny Americans the Right to Know - or "DARK" - Act, which would block states from requiring labeling of GE ingredients, even though 90 percent of Americans support food labeling.

**EWG is ready to tackle these and other fights to protect your health and environment.** But in-depth research and forceful activism require major resources, and if we don't hit this fundraising goal, we may not be able to defeat the DARK Act or invest in future projects.

**Please protect our communities by helping EWG raise $50,000 right away.**

[**Donate by May 11 and you will fuel the work that makes our food and environment safer. Plus you'll get EWG's Shopper's Guide to Pesticides in Produce bag tag free!**](http://action.ewg.org/salsa/track.jsp?v=2&c=CZjNO0SyFflBLTPfzioGYuWSO5znQuCc&ref=foodconsumer.org)

Thank you for taking a stand on behalf of your health and environment.
