Vitamin C has been found protective against brain tumors and lung cancer among other things. A new review study of data from more than a dozen of reports now suggests that taking vitamin C supplements may also reduce risk of esophageal cancer. The study shows that vitamin C intake was inversely associated with risk of esophageal cancer in a linear dose-responsive relation. The data suggest that taking vitamin C may cut the risk of esophageal cancer by up to 42%. For each additional 50 mg per day, the risk was decreased by 13%.
