## We're Hot on Their Trail!

Dear Progressive/CMD Reader:

We broke a lot of news this week and wanted to share some of the highlights with you.

This week we are hot on the trail of Governor Scott Walker's promise to create 250,000 jobs. His flagship economic development agency, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp., which has been mired in scandal from the get-go, has fallen far, far short of its goals, as our special projects editor [Mary Bottari reports](http://org.salsalabs.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=dCSQ5YvwmQW2QUv4Y0eWmBz2IKMo%2FwP5&ref=foodconsumer.org).

We're also hot on the trail of the giant pesticide and GMO companies spending big bucks on lobbying and elections in Hawai'i, which has become ground zero in the fight against GMO crops and chemicals. Rebekah Wilce counted up the cash and [was featured](http://org.salsalabs.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=qod7OrEhrxHrm9BZm%2Ba2%2Bhz2IKMo%2FwP5&ref=foodconsumer.org) on the national radio show Making Contact about "genetically modified democracy" as part of a media collaboration called "[What the Fork?! Corporations and Democracy](http://org.salsalabs.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=HeZh6ZS1wn5zCkXX%2FwzMGRz2IKMo%2FwP5&ref=foodconsumer.org)."

Our Senior Editor [Matt Rothschild wrote](http://org.salsalabs.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=gUSeQnkFWEawz3A8eaA1mRz2IKMo%2FwP5&ref=foodconsumer.org) about the jubilant couples getting married on the steps of the Dane County Courthouse, after a federal judge overturned the state's ban on same-sex marriage. Our view is: Love is Love.

And I'm hard at work on our upcoming special double issue of The Progressive magazine. Our July/August edition will break new ground in exposing the modern-day Robber Barons whose greed is crushing workers and threatening our planet and our future.

If you're not a subscriber, you're going to want to get this special issue, which will feature Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Richard Trumka, Matt Taibbi, and more. Forward!
