Aug. 31, 2104 (foodconsumer.org) -- A review published in 2011 in Obesity Reviews listed the ingredients or nutrtion supplements that were mostly commonly used for weight loss, particularly fat loss. The most commonly used fat burners including caffeine, carnitine, green tea, conjugated linoleic acid, forskolin, chromium, kelp and fucoxanthin promote fat metabolism or energy expenditure, impair fat absorption, boost weight loss, and increase fat oxidation or cause long-term adaptation that promote fat metabolite. Other ingredients may show some promise, but lack convincing evidence to demonstrate effectiveness. These supplements like chromium, forskolin, green tea, caffeine, fucoxanthin are still popular today.

Some other weight loss supplements that were developed after the review may also be effective in inducing weight loss or preventing obesity. Garcinia cambogia, green coffee bean extract, raspberry ketones or active-ingredients-based supplements like [phen375](http://track.moreniche.com/hit.php?w=257085&s=157&ref=foodconsumer.org) are a few samples of the currently popular weight loss supplements. Some more aggressive supplements like testosterone supplements can also serve as fat burners to selectively burn off fat, but not muscle. Supplements of this sort are very important for body builders. One testosterone supplement is [testosterone max](http://track.moreniche.com/hit.php?w=257085&s=240&a=15262&ref=foodconsumer.org).

While supplements are helpful, a modified dietary pattern and physical exercise are also important for weight loss or obesity prevention. For instance, recent evidence suggests that animals eating a diet full of omega-6 fatty acids developed obesity more easily than those eating no omega-6\. Physical exercise can change the ratio of male sex hormone to female sex hormones in a way that it can promote weight loss. Those who want to lose weight may want to consider both taking weight loss pills and follow a diet that help you to achieve your weight loss goal. (David Liu, PHD)
