Whole grain consumption may help reduce risk of breast cancer, according to a case-control study published in Journal of the American College of Nutrition.

The study found that women who ate whole grain products 7 times per week or more frequently were 50% less likely to develop breast cancer, compared to those who did not eat whole grains rarely or never.

The study involved 250 cases of breast cancer and 250 matched controls at an average of 56 years plus/minus 12 years. (David Liu)
