According to a Russian report, scientists at the University of Texas have concluded that it is best for women to have the first child at the age of 34 after studying about 3000 women who had at least one child. The scientists found women who had the first child later were healthier and looked younger.

The study showed women had fewer health problems after they got older than 22 years and they felt best at the age of 34\. The researchers claimed that women at 34 were best suitable for having their first baby they had a better health condition and financial status at this time.

Not all scientists in the world would agree with the researchers on the optimal age for the first birth. The women's fertility is on the rapid decline after 34 and some researchers at Oxford University suggested the second birth should be given before the age 37 or 38\. After that age, it is not always easy to have a safe birth.

Be aware though that women who give first birth late are more likely to develop breast cancer. One in eight U.S. women are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Breast tissue can only become mature and resistant to the mutation after having a full-term pregnancy. Having a baby at a younger age would reduce the risk of breast cancer.
