The executor of Gary Coleman’s estate has accused Coleman’s former wife, Shannon Price, of “peddling” a deathbed photo of the former child star to tabloids. The picture, which shows Price by Coleman’s side a mere hours before he died, is now on the cover of Globe Magazine, according to CBS News.
The Globe is owned by a parent company, American Media.Although the media group acknowledged that they purchased the photo from Shannon Price, they did not disclose the amount.
Dion Mial, who was named executor in Coleman’s 1999 will, went public with his accusation that Price has been attempting to profit from Coleman’s death. Mial has been appointed special administrator of Coleman’s estate.
Price, who is 24, has come under fire since Gary Coleman’s death for allegedly seeming “callous” during a 911 she made after the actor became injured. People Magazine is also reporting that Coleman’s estranged parents have tried to make contact with Price regarding their son’s death, but to no avail.
Although Coleman and Price were divorced at the time of his death, Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, where Coleman was reportedly on life support, confirmed that Price had legal rights to remove life support.
While the caption that accompanies the morbid photo reads, “IT WAS MURDER,” investigators insist there was no sign of foul play (People).
