Some interesting research reports are cited below.  It seems that high serum homocysteine, head trauma and alcohol and tobacco are linked to high risk of Alzheimer’s disease while dietary supplements antioxidants such as vitamin E and C, resveratrol, B vitamins and omega 3 fatty acids such as DHA found in oily fish and melatonin may help prevent or relieve symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease although not all studies are consistent. Specifically, carnitine, choline, curcumin, folic acid, fruits and vegetables, thiamin, vitamin B6, vitamin B12 and vitamin E among others may help prevent Alzheimer's disease, according to Linus Pauling Institute.  Also anything such as high iron in meat that promotes oxidation or increases oxidative stress can increase the risk of Alzheimer's disease.
