BREAKING: Urgent Action: Don't Let EPA Re-Up Monsanto's Roundup

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s decision on its once-every-15-year review of glyphosate, the active ingredient in Monsanto's Roundup herbicide, appears to be imminent.

TAKE ACTION: Tell the EPA, "Don't re-up Roundup!"

If you can, please join us this Wednesday May 4, to deliver petitions to EPA's Washington, D.C. headquarters.

On Friday, the EPA posted to its glyphosate re-registration docket the agency’sfindings that, even though the World Health Organization has determined that glyphosate is a probable human carcinogen, the EPA believes glyphosate is "Not Likely to be Carcinogenic to Humans." The findings, an October 2015 final report from its Cancer Assessment Review Committee, were posted along with three records of meetings EPA officials held with Monsanto.

Late on Monday, after word got out about the EPA findings, agency officials removed the findings from their website, according to Politico, which reported this comment from an EPA spokesperson:

"Documents on glyphosate that are still in development were taken down from the agency's docket because our assessment is still ongoing and not final," said Nick Conger, a spokesman. "EPA has not completed our cancer review. We will continue to look at the work of other governments as well as work by HHS's Agricultural Health Study as we move to make a decision on glyphosate. Our assessment will be peer reviewed and completed by end of 2016."

Since March 2015, when the World Health Organization announced that glyphosate is a “probable” human carcinogen, Monsanto has been up to its dirty tricks, wielding its power and influence to pressure the EPA to ignore independent science and turn a blind eye to the suffering of Americans who have or will get cancer because of exposure to its Roundup herbicide.

We can’t let this happen. We know the truth about Roundup. We can’t let the EPA ignore it.

TAKE ACTION: Tell the EPA, "Don't re-up Roundup!"

Thanks!
