This is incredible!
23,549 EWG supporters have already joined EWG in calling on President Obama to honor his pledge of requiring the labeling of genetically engineered food.
But with nine hours to go, we’re still 16,451 short of reaching our goal of 40,000 signatures before tonight’s State of the Union address. Will you add your name now to help us get there?
Thank you for joining the thousands of Americans who have stood up for our right to know

“Here’s what I’ll do as President...We’ll let folks know whether their food has been genetically modified because Americans should know what they’re buying.” - Barack Obama, 2007 Click here to stand with EWG and call on President Obama to honor his pledge!
Remember President Obama’s 2007 campaign pledge to make the labeling of genetically engineered foods a national priority?
It’s time he kept his promise!
An estimated 80 percent of processed foods contain GE ingredients, yet the U.S. government still doesn’t require reasonable, common sense labeling of foods that have been genetically engineered in laboratories.
That's why we're calling on President Obama to reaffirm his pledge to require GE labeling and to lay out a real plan during his State of the Union address this Tuesday. But we need your help to get to 40,000 signatures before then so he hears us loud and clear. Will you add your name?
With supporters of the Deny Americans the Right to Know – or DARK – Act gearing up for another big fight this year to legally block states from requiring GE labeling, we can’t let President Obama drag his feet on this critical issue.
National polls show that 93 percent of Americans support GE labeling – so what are you waiting for, Mr. President? It’s time to add the U.S. to the list of 64 other nations that have given their consumers the right to know what is in their food.
Thanks for speaking up. Together, we will win this fight.
Sincerely,
Ken Cook
President, Environmental Working Group
