BREAKING: Oregon’s Yes on Measure 92 is within half of one percent of victory with thousands of votes remaining to be counted.

The fight to win GE labeling in Oregon is in overtime.

The difference between Yes votes and No votes on Measure 92 is less than 5,200 votes – less than half of one percent. We expect that margin to narrow even more.

The Oregon Secretary of State's office just announced there are more than 13,000 contested ballots. We need the resources to be able to chase those voters down, and ask them to remedy their ballots.

Ballots can be challenged because the signature on the envelope doesn’t match the voter’s registration card or some other technical reason. Almost always these ballots are legitimate, but don’t count unless the voter corrects whatever the issue is in the next few days.

Remedying thousands of challenged ballots is a huge job. It’s going to take an immediate fundraising surge to support the operation it will take to make sure every ballot is counted.

We believe that most of the 13,000 challenged ballots are Yes votes – and counting them is likely to close the gap and win this race.

If ever there were a time to dig deep to support labeling of GE foods, this is it. All ballots must be remedied by 5pm on Tuesday the 18th, giving us only a few days to reach the thousands of voters who need to remedy their challenged ballots.
