The World Beer Festival—Durham celebrates local breweries
September 3, 2014 – Durham, NC - The World Beer Festival—Durham, to be held Saturday, October 11th at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, proudly released its 2014 line-up, boasting an array of local breweries and brewpubs.
“With 32 North Carolina breweries in the mix, the World Beer Festival is a great place to come try all your local favorites in one place,” said Adam Harold, Director of Beer Programs for the World Beer Festival. “With sessions and demos by local beer experts, it promises to be both educational and delicious.”
Bull City Ciderworks, D9 Brewing Co., Haw River Farmhouse Ales, Nickelpoint Brewing Co., Southern Pines Brewing Co., Dirtbag Ales, and The Unknown Brewing Co. are among the list of local breweries, and will be pouring at the World Beer Festival for the first time.
The 2014 festival will feature the largest North Carolina Beer Garden in World Beer Festival history. “We started the North Carolina section of the festival a few years ago as a way to point out our local breweries” adds Harold. “It has grown substantially with so many new breweries popping up in the Triangle and in the State, and we are proud to display such a large number at this year’s festival.”
A list of attending breweries can be found at www.worldbeerfestival.com. A complete brewery list will be finalized later this week.
General admission tickets are $55 and include a tasting glass and unlimited 4oz tastings from over 200 craft and specialty beers. VIP admission tickets are available for $70 and offer the same in addition to access to a private air-conditioned hospitality area including private bathrooms, a bonus selection of rare beers, a 2014 festival commemorative gift, and a 3-issue subscription to All About Beer Magazine.
