A traditional Chinese medicine called Yigan Fupi Decoction (YFD) is more effective than Pinaverium Bromide Tablet (PBT) in treating diarrhea in patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D), according to a new four-week trial. 

Compared to PBT, a drug for functional gastrointestinal disorders, YFD was found superior in the total IBS bowel symptom severity scale,  IBS defecation state questionnaire, and IBS quality of life questionnaire. (David Liu, PHD)
