1999–2006 Cancer Incidence and Mortality DataThis Web-based report includes the official federal statistics on cancer incidence from registries that have high-quality data and cancer mortality statistics for each year and 2002–2006 combined. It is produced by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI), in collaboration with the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR).

(Table 4.1.M1) Age-Adjusted Invasive Cancer Incidence Rates for the 10 Primary Sites with the Highest Rates within Race- and Ethnic-Specific Categories
Footnotes
* Data are from selected statewide and metropolitan area cancer registries that meet the data quality criteria for all invasive cancer sites combined. See registry-specific data quality information. Rates cover approximately 90% of the U.S. population.
† Excludes basal and squamous cell carcinomas of the skin except when these occur on the skin of the genital organs, and in situ cancers except urinary bladder.
‡ Rates are age-adjusted to the 2000 U.S. standard population (19 age groups – Census P25–1130).
§ Data for specified racial or ethnic populations other than white and black should be interpreted with caution. See Technical Notes.
|| Hispanic origin is not mutually exclusive from race categories (white, black, Asian/Pacific Islander, American Indian/Alaska Native).
~ Rates are suppressed and not ranked if case counts are fewer than 16 or if the population of the specific category (race, ethnicity) is less than 50,000.
Confidence interval (CI): Range of values for a rate that will include the true value of the rate a given percentage of the time. Example: 95% CI includes the true value of the rate 95% of the time.
Notes: ONS – Other Nervous System; NOS – Not Otherwise Specified; IBD – Intrahepatic Bile Duct. Urinary bladder cases include invasive and in situ
