The unvarnished website introduces itself saying "Unvarnished is an online resource for building, managing, and researching professional reputation, using community-contributed, professional reviews."

One businessman commented that this business based on the privacy of other professionals are doomed to fail.  The website could get legal troubles should anything untrue get published against someone.

Those who are very successful professionals do not need any service from the unvarnished website to build up their reputation.  For them, one resume is sufficient to lead them to the next level of career success.

Those who are not as successful would be stupid to open an account on the unvarnished website to create a profile waiting for others to make comments against them.

If you want to build a highly regarded professional reputation, you need to work hard and smart and have a good relationship with your companies, your boss and colleagues.  Other people's comments, positive or negative, on the unvarnished website would not help you build a good reputation.

If you have earned a bad reputation, start today to re-build a good one by doing something real, but not wait for others to judge you through the website.
