Saturday Nov 16, 2013 (foodconsumer.org) -- A case report published in Personalized Medicine Universe suggests that high doses of vitamin C can cure high grade prostate cancer.

Earlier studies have found intravenous or oral vitamin C improved cancer symptoms and prolonged the life of patients with terminal cancer.  Recent studies show that high doses of intravenous vitamin C ranging from 50 to 100 grams can increase the serum levels of vitamin C to 14000 umol/L.  At 1000 umol/L or higher, vitamin C can selectively kill cancer cells, according to the case report.

John P. Salerno reported the case study of a patient who had been diagnosed prostate cancer of Gleason's pattern'7.  The patient had received high dose IV vitamin C for 10 months and at the end of the treatment, the vascular tumor disappeared and was no longer detectable.

The author say "In the light of the recent evidence showing anti-tumor activity of vitamin C, the role of high dose IV vitamin C for cancer should be considered further." (David Liu, PH)
