Calcium, phosphorus boost lethal prostate cancer risk
Following 47,885 men for up to 24 years, Harvard researchers tied phosphorus intake independently to lethal and high-grade prostate cancer. Calcium above 2,000 mg a day was also associated with risk, but that link lost significance after adjusting for phosphorus.
Diet
Vegan diet linked to lower prostate cancer risk
Among 26,346 men in Adventist Health Study-2, vegans were 35 percent less likely to develop prostate cancer than men following other dietary patterns, with reductions of 37 percent in white men and 33 percent in black men.
Food
Dairy foods linked to higher death risk from prostate cancer
Among 926 men with non-metastatic prostate cancer in the Physicians' Health Study, those eating three or more daily dairy servings were 76% more likely to die of any cause and 141% more likely to die of prostate cancer. The study does not prove dairy caused it.

Disease
Diabetes mellitus linked to higher risk of bladder cancer
An Italian case-control study of 690 bladder cancer patients and 665 hospital controls found people with diabetes about twice as likely to be diagnosed with bladder cancer, with longer diabetes duration linked to higher risk. Why the association exists is unknown; insulin and IGF-1 may play a part.

Cell Phone radiation can induce DNA strand breaks
A 2005 study exposed human fibroblasts and rodent granulosa cells to the radiofrequency fields used by mobile phones and found detectable DNA single- and double-strand breaks after 16 hours or more, with intermittent exposure producing a stronger effect than continuous exposure.
