John Forsythe, one of most famous TV actors in U.S. history, reportedly died  of complications from pneumonia on Tursday at his home  He was 92.

John Forsythe was best known for his role in one of the most popular TV series of all times - the Dynasty in which he acted as oil businessman Blake Carrington. His work on the Dynasty won him three nominations for the Emmy awards and two Golden Globe Awards and two Soap Opera Digest Awards.

The actor was also well known for his voice of the leader in crime drama Charlie's Angels. He not only had great success in his acting career, but also in his marital life. He had been stayed in his marriage with his first wife, a famous actress named Julie Warren, who died at the age of 74 on August 15, 1994, for 51 years, a record in Hollywood.  And he was free of sex scandals.

A person's death is not good news to hear.  But there must be some good reason for John Forsythe to live a great life of 92 years.

Mr. Forsythe did not seem to be a superman in terms of his health. He underwent quadruple by pass surgery in 1979. He was also diagnosed with colon cancer on Sept 28, 2006 at 88, according to the Associated press.  He was quickly treated for the disease and on Oct 17, 2006, he was still kept in the hospital to receive the treatment for his cancer.  He was released from the hospital on Nov 17, 2006, according to ET online.

He did not die of colon cancer, but pneumonia.  Cancer patients after treatment are at higher risk for all types of infections because their immunity is weakened by the cancer therapies.

Considering the lifespan expectancy in the United States is about 78 years for men, John Forsythe must have done something right in his lifestyle.  Good family life can be one of the most important determinants for his longevity.

And something that might also have made a difference is his diet.  Mr John Forsythe was quoted by Saturday Evening Post in January 1984 that "I don't eat meat; I eat fish and chicken. Unfortunately, I am absolutely passionate about cheese. My idea of heaven i to sit with an apple and a piece of cheese and gnaw at them."
