- Free Snowshoe Demo and Rail Jam
- Mountain of Coats Drive
- Dinner with CEO Matthew Drake
- Pray for Snow Party with DJ Mighty Moves and Time Machine
(Mt. Hood Meadows, OR) — This week’s storm dropped 10 inches of snow at Meadows, not quite enough to run lifts, but more than enough to get excited about the season. Meadows presents a Pray for Snow day and party Saturday - a chance for snow enthusiasts to come up, see and play in the snow and share their stoke for the season.
Meadows restaurants, retail stores and passholder services will be open at 11 AM for those getting their passes, looking for the best selection of ski and snowboard outerwear, accessories and hard goods. The day is filled with events and activities including a free snowshoe demo, a rail jam, dinner with CEO Matthew Drake and a Pray for Snow Party with DJ Mighty Moves and Time Machine.
Mountain of Coats Collection
Bring coats, clothing, and other non perishable items to donate to Mountain of Coats supporting Saint Vincent de Paul. Collections can be made between 11 AM and 5 PM and everyone who donates gets registered to win a Mt. Hood Meadows Value Season Pass!
Free Snowshoe Demo
Snowshoeing is fast becoming one of the most popular winter activities. A free snowshoe demo will be offered from noon - 3 PM to give those interested a chance to try out the equipment and experience how much fun exploring nature on the snow is. Even with nearly a foot of fresh snow on the ground, snow shoes allow explorers to easily maneuver over the snow. (Credit card or driver’s license required.)
Rail Jam
Meadows Parks takes on a new twist - harvesting enough Parking Lot snow to create a Rail Park adjacent to the Daisy lift. The park will be sessioned from 3 - 7 PM.
Dinner with the CEO
Meadows C.E.O. Matthew Drake will make a presentation to talk about the upcoming season as well as plans for the future of Meadows. The dinner is $35 and advance reservations must be made online. The dinner begins at 5:30 with a reception at the Alpenstube slope-side restaurant.
Pray for Snow Party
The highlight of the day is the Pray for Snow Party - kicking off with DJ Mighty Moves and 7:30, and then Time Machine hits the stage with a song list rich in depth that's sure to keep the crowd dancing all night. Their style range is diverse but they have a sweet spot for rock and roll. Covering songs from Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, BTO, Journey, KC and the Sunshine Band, Prince and even current songs on pop radio. Purchase tickets in advance for $10 online, or $15 at the door (for ages 21 and older).

About this week’s storm:
Meadows received ten inches of snow from this week’s storm and has begun snow harvesting and snow making efforts with a plan to offer preview days over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. With more snow forecast this week Meadows officials are shooting for a limited operation Friday - Sunday following Thanksgiving. This is a good omen for the La Nina season to come! Operational and snow conditions updates can be found on Meadows condition page.
