Researchers testing curcumin against head and neck squamous cell carcinoma cell lines found it blocked nicotine from activating cancer-causing cells, suggesting curry powder and turmeric might counter nicotine's effect in smokers. Presented at the 2009 AAO-HNSF meeting.
