Ginger Reduces Pain After Exercise
In a double-blind trial, participants took two grams of raw or heat-treated ginger or a placebo for 11 days, then did heavy arm exercise to induce muscle injury. Raw ginger cut exercise-induced pain by 25 percent within 24 hours and the heat-treated form by 23 percent.

Ginger may reduce exercise induced pain
In a randomized, double-blind trial in the Journal of Pain, athletes taking two grams of raw or heat-treated ginger daily for 11 days reported muscle pain 24 hours after exercise 25 and 23 percent lower than placebo. Researchers credit antioxidants such as gingerols and shogaols.
